Why a pregnancy multivitamin can support you at every stage

July 8, 2026

Whether you are planning a pregnancy, already expecting, or nourishing your baby through breastfeeding, your body has increased nutritional needs at every step of this journey. A multivitamin designed specifically for this life stage is a simple, everyday way to make sure those needs are met, alongside a healthy and varied diet.

Three stages, one supplement

Nutritional needs shift throughout the journey from pregnancy planning to breastfeeding. During pregnancy planning, building up nutrient stores and supporting the body ahead of conception matters. During pregnancy, the body works hard to support both mother and baby — and demand for several vitamins and minerals rises. And during breastfeeding, the body continues to give, with many nutrients passing directly to the baby through breast milk.

Well by Orion Pharma's Pregnancy & Breastfeeding Multivitamin is developed with all three stages in mind. One small tablet per day delivers a carefully selected range of vitamins and minerals to complement your diet throughout this important period.

A broad range of nutrients in one tablet

The multivitamin contains 16 carefully chosen nutrients. Some of the key ones include:

Vitamin D3 (10 µg)
— contributes to normal immune function and supports calcium and phosphorus absorption, important for mother bone health. ¹
Iodine (175 µg) — contributes to the normal production of thyroid hormones and normal thyroid function and cognitive function ²
Iron (20 mg) — contributes to the normal formation of red blood cells and haemoglobin and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, supporting energy levels during pregnancy and breastfeeding ³
Zinc (15 mg) — contributes to normal fertility and reproduction, as well as immune function ⁴
Folic acid (500 µg) — supports maternal folate status; according to Livsmedelsverket, supplemental folic acid is recommended for all women who may become pregnant ⁵
B6 and B12 vitamins — contribute to normal energy metabolism and reduction of tiredness and fatigue ⁶

The tablet does not contain vitamin A — an important safety consideration, as excess vitamin A is not recommended during pregnancy.

Designed to be easy to use

The tablet is small and easy to swallow. It can also be halved if needed, making it practical for everyday use even when nausea or other discomforts make swallowing tablets more challenging.

A complement to a good diet

A varied and balanced diet remains the foundation of good nutrition. Foods such as legumes, dark leafy greens, whole grains, fruits, and berries provide a wide range of important nutrients. A multivitamin complements this foundation — it is not a replacement for healthy eating, but a reassuring addition during a period when nutritional needs are higher than usual.
If you have specific health questions during pregnancy or breastfeeding, always consult your midwife or doctor.
